Commercial Drywall Estimator

UBS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced drywall estimator. Qualified candidates will possess experience estimating the construction of multiple drywall projects, which will include both new construction and renovations. 
If you would like to be part of our team and earn competitive industry pay you must have the following qualifications to be considered for the position: 

5 years of Commercial Drywall Estimating experience required 
Posses the ability to deal with deadlines and create several estimates simultaneously. 

Job Duties

  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple drywall projects is required
  • Review, create, submit quality estimates with detailed proposals
  • Prepare high-level quantity and manpower take-offs
  • Comprehensively analyze plans, specifications, proposals and additional documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects
  • Attend site visits,pre-bid meetings, job site walk-throughs, bids, and coordination meetings
  • Must maintain an extremely professional working relationship with clients, subcontractors, and peers
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills:

  • The ability to proficiently provide estimates & estimating services
  • Computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Quick-Bid & On-Screen Takeoff
  • Knowledge of construction processes and terminology
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to fully understand plans and specifications
  • Excellent communication skills; both internal and external
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience as an Estimator with a primary focus on gypsum wallboard assemblies, acoustical ceiling systems, and interior finishes

The successful individual will have a minimum of 5 years' prior Estimating experience. You will be working hand in hand with the firm's president and have direct input in building the Estimating team in the future.

Project Manager

Full-time, Contract

The basic function of the Project Manager is to provide the timely management of a project from contract receipt through completion with the goals of maximizing profits and minimizing risks while maintaining UBS’s standard of quality and continued client satisfaction.


Leadership & Management:

  • Follow and uphold company and policies and procedures
  • Represent UBS in a positive and professional manner
  • Maintain a positive open relationship with UBS field personnel
  • Work with all personnel and outside contacts to achieve company goals satisfy clients
  • Arrive to work and meetings on time and prepared
  • Coordinate safety issues as applicable to project.

Sales & Marketing:

  • Build market awareness for UBS's services in a professional and proactive manner
  • Assist clients, GC's and other important parties with questions and/or information requests in a timely and polite manner, ensuring a positive working relationship
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients


  • Related to Office/Clients
  • Process contract upon receipt using Contract checklists A & B (see attached) conferring with estimator as and if required
  • Review all bid documents and proposal to establish full knowledge of project
  • Meet with estimator to review entire project (if applicable)
  • Attend pre-construction meetings Develop SOV & prepare monthly updates of SOV for monthly billing
  • Provide input with GC to develop cost effective schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern.
  • Anticipate problems
  • Initiate UBS’s relating to UBS scope of work to obtain clarification, scope change or other solution
  • Administer all correspondence (RFI’s, ASI’s, Bulletins, Billing requests, etc.) from GC in a timely manner
  • Monitor job costs in relation to budget on an ongoing basis
  • Determine vendor list
  • Manage contracts of 2nd tier subcontractors ensuring scope of work is completed to fulfill UBS contractual requirements.
  • Process project close-out documents as required by GC
  • Material cost coding on invoices Identify the need for and create change quotes for jobs, and follow thru with acquiring all change orders
  • Review “ALL” post contract documents for potential change orders Maintain job files in an orderly fashion as per 5 file system
  • Related to Field
  • Lay out job tasks for Project Superintendent and/or Trade Foremen and/or crew, providing guidance and answering questions as necessary to ensure accurate fulfillment of scope of work Provide contract documents for use by project superintendent and/or foreman
  • Review entire project with superintendent and project foreman
  • Review foreman’s manual (established from contract checklist noted in “office” above) with superintendent and foreman
  • In conjunction with superintendent and foreman, develop and implement procedures and systems that help reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Forward all appropriate correspondence and documents to ensure superintendent and foreman are provided withal current information
  • Provide ongoing communication with foreman with regard to approved changes and those not approved
  • Ensure field is not performing with beyond contractual obligations without binding approval from GC
  • Oversee project superintendent and/or foreman with regard to material, labor, safety and logistics for project
  • Complete and review pre-construction checklist with project superintendent and/or foreman and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern
  • Address quality and customer satisfaction issues as needed
  • Perform regular job inspections to ensure work is progressing according to schedule and scope of work.
  • Perform regular job walks
